Saw this posted somewhere online and wanted to share it here...
I stopped by Arlington National Cemetery yesterday. The longer I was there, the more pissed off I got. People treat it like a theme park. Kids running around, teenagers texting, foreign tourists posing for camera shots in front of graves. Busloads of tourists checking the cemetery off their list of places to see.
This is OUR place. Veterans first, and after that Americans. There needs to be a time each day where you need to be a family member or veteran to go there.”
I do agree with that. I’ve been to Arlington National Cemetery before, as family of the deceased, to pay my respects. It definitely is upsetting to be there to mourn and run into tourists from all over with their cameras smiling next to graves. Have some respect and decency!
So get your shit together. Respect the men and women our country has lost!
Take your photos but don’t disrupt graves or the families that are there with a purpose.
